Department of Global Communication (DGC)

The Company of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul is associated with the Department of Global Communication (DGC).

  • In 1968, the Economic and Social Council called on the Department of Public Information (DPI) to associate NGOs.
  • The mission of the DGC is to communicate the work and ideals of the United Nations to the world, interact and partner with a diverse audience, and build the support for peace, development, and human rights.
  • There are three divisions: Strategic Communications, News and Media, and Outreach.
  • About 1,500 NGOs are now associated with the DGC.
  • There are now about 350 NGO youth representatives.
