As we celebrate the mystery of the Incarnation and prepare to welcome the New Year, the Daughters of Charity at the United Nations give thanks to God for the many ways advocacy has been shaped and strengthened by the voices and experiences of grassroots service.
In a world filled with profound challenges, conflict, displacement, poverty, and environmental crisis, it is the daily faithfulness of communities on the ground that has guided our advocacy and given it credibility and purpose.
At Christmas, we celebrate the God who chose to dwell among the poor and vulnerable. This mystery calls us again to be instruments of peace, justice, and compassion. In the fragile places of our world, we glimpse the light of Christ through acts of service, solidarity, and hope lived out each day at the grassroots.
As we look toward 2026, we do so with trust. Strengthened by the witness of those who serve at the peripheries and inspired by the Gospel. Together, as one body, we will persevere in building a world where dignity is upheld, peace is possible, and hope is never extinguished.
With gratitude for what has been shared, accomplished, and entrusted to us, we move forward—faithfully and together.
